7th Annual Awards Luncheon
Ocala Hilton
August 16, 2009 - 11:00 - 3:00 p.m.

FHTA's annual awards luncheon was held at the Ocala Hilton on August 16th. Sixty members and friends enjoyed the activities, from bidding on wonderful items in the silent auction, winning entries to FHTA-sanctioned events in the event-free raffle, lots of door prizes, an in-house massage therapist Emory Philman, and listening to Rhonda Gailey giving a talk about Florida's newest equestrian center The Oaks in Lake City that she manages.

FHTA has inaugurated a perpetual award in memory of one of it's founding members, Susan Neubauer. Her husband Duane presented a short slide show of Susan's life and accomplishments. Voted on by the Board of Directors, this year's award was presented to Wendy Low, of Canterbury Equestrian Showplace, for her sportsmanship and work behind the scenes, promoting FHTA to the public.

We would like to thank this year's sponsors -- Midwest Feed & Farm, Canterbury Equestrian Showplace, and Equestrian Secretarial Services -- for their support. Year-end award winners took home monogrammed saddlepads, tote bags, and silver bowls for their Title awards. We thank our Special Award sponsors for the High Score awards in several different categories.

Michael Bradtke is our official FHTA photographer, and you can see more pictures from the luncheon at his website www.michaelbradtkephotography.com.

6th Annual Awards Luncheon
Held at the luxurious Ocala Hilton (I-75&Rt 200) August 17 (11-3pm).

Thanks to all who came and supported us at the annual awards luncheon last Sunday at the Ocala Hilton! We enjoyed a good buffet lunch, an entertaining power point presentation by Lori Rice of our FHTA activities this past year (including the event camp), bidding on our plentiful silent auction items (over 80 pieces to bid on!), and awarding those beautiful trophies and Title awards to our deserving competitors!

Thanks also go to all who helped set things up (especially Just for Kicks Event Club), and all of you who generously bid on the silent auction items. Since this is our one and only fund-raiser for the year to gain capital for working expenses, we were absolutely thrilled to net over $3000 on the auction alone! Our event-free raffle brought in more, and the lucky winners have won a free entry into one of our sanctioned venues throughout the state. All that along with many membership renewals and new signees and the generous donations from our banner sponsors, puts enough money back into our treasury for the upcoming year so we can plan more activites for our members.

Many thanks to our major sponsors -- Morgan Stanley, Winning Edge Tack Shop, Horse Shows in the Park, Canterbury, Rocking Horse Stables, and Basingstoke Web Designs.

The FIFTH Annual FHTA Awards Luncheon and Annual Meeting was held August 12, 2007 at the Ocala Hilton.

Our annual year-end awards luncheon was held on August 12th, and it was another huge success! Thanks to everyone who helped put it together, those who attended the festivities, those who donated to our silent auction (we raised over $1100 !!), and to all our sponsors who made it all possible. We had an informative talk from Shelley Lambert for the Fla. Horse Park, and an entertaining recap of the Pan Am Games by Kyle Carter, who finished 5th individually and was a silver medal team winner and a slide show presentation from the FHTA Event Camps.

Thank you to our sponsors!

The FOURTH Annual FHTA Awards Luncheon and Annual Meeting
was held August 13, 2006 at the Ocala Hilton.

Our 4th annual awards luncheon at the Ocala Hilton was a big success! Seventy people there enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch and open bar. After a short business meeting & introductions of our sponsors, Margaret Rowell entertained us with a promotional video of the Florida Horse Park and their plans for the future. Then Busy Shires Byerly, representing the Conservation Trust for Florida, Inc.(whose mission is to protect the rural land in Florida from development), gave a short presentation about their activities.

Leg Certificates were awarded to several of our members who had achieved at least two qualifying scores in a phase. Some beautiful trophies for the Special Awards were handed out to the High Score winners, and then the Title Awards were given to those winners who had accumulated eight qualifying scores in a phase. Dressage winners took home monogrammed saddle pads, Stadium winners won directors' chairs, and Cross-country winners won monogrammed coolers. Many thanks to our very generous sponsors who contribute their financial support so that we can offer such nice prizes every year.

Our silent auction with plenty of donated items brought in over $1000. Many thanks for Lori Rice and Krista Wilson for obtaining so many lovely items for us to bid on. Several door prizes were given away, including a $50 gift certificate to Tractor Supply and a bridle.

I'd like to thank everyone for all their help during the year and helping at the luncheon as well. We appreciate your input and comments at any time. We strive to make this organization bigger and better every year. We are in the process of obtaining our federal tax-exempt status, have added more sanctioned venues to our list of events in Florida, have taken out our own insurance policy, and want to encourage more junior riders to join FHTA.

As a reminder, it's time to renew your membership for the new year, which began August 1. You can renew by getting a membershp form off this website and sending it in. Membership fees remain at $10/rider plus $5/horse.

Again, thanks to our sponsors -- Morgan Stanley, MudPlus Inc., DCD Enterprises of Manasota, Canterbury Equestrian Showplace, and Basingstoke Web Designs. Congratulations to all our winners for this year.
